Pregnancy and birth are sacred

How we honor both people and events can take a mundane experience and allow it to unfold in its sacred qualities. Jennifer holds precious the uniqueness of your experience while offering evidence based care combined with the safety of modern medicine.

Labor is best when undisturbed

When a woman enters into labor, she is diving into an ancient and primitive experience that calls upon her to step out of the part of her mind that thinks, plans and controls and into the part of her brain that is in the flow and allowing everything to unfold as it may.

To allow things to progress with as few disturbances as possible will support the labor to proceed organically.  This philosophy of physiologic birth, also called biodynamic birth, speaks to a desire for a calm, quiet, dark environment where a woman and her family will feel safe and calm.

Jennifer strives to build a groundwork for an ease filled labor during the prenatal appointments by bringing a grounding and un-rushed attitude.  Throughout the prenatal course, and with the help of regular craniosacral sessions, we will build the muscle of a slow-paced and regulated nervous system, which supports the labor, the postpartum and the parenting beyond.

One on One Midwifery Care

Jennifer follows the Obstetrical schedule of care, with the biggest difference being the time you spend one on one at each Prenatal not only listening to your baby and checking you and your baby's vitals, but also discussing nutrition, exercise and discovering how you feel about becoming a parent.

Packages include all prenatal visits, two registered midwives at your birth, four post partum visits in your home, two post partum visits in my office and five craniosacral appointments.

CranioSacral Therapy

No Matter Where You Birth

Created as a non-invaisive form of body work that addresses the nervous system in its entirety to support women to move through past traumas and current fears about birthing and becoming a parent. Treatments can support you with a restful nights sleep, diminish body aches and reduce anxiety.

This work is available to the Boulder Community no matter where you you birth: home, a birthing center or the hospital.

Lactation Counseling

In Your Home

After you give birth Jennifer will come to your home to assess the mother/baby diad to ensure a good latch and discuss nutrition and post partum goals. This services is ideal for families who have birthed at a birthing center or a hospital and want the additional support of a midwife who will listen to your concerns and make nutritional and supportive suggestions for long term health and parenting enjoyment.

This service is included when you birth with Jennifer and for an extra fee if you have birthed elsewhere.
